- These descriptions of events are mostly as I recall them from growing up in Berkeley in the 1950's and 60's. The illustrations are a part of an autobiographical picture book I have worked on for the last several years. The memoir as a whole also contains sections that are fictional as I have taken liberties to express my experiences and observations in a more metaphorical manner. Where "real life" leaves off and imagination begins is anyone's guess.
Thank you for sharing so much of what you've experienced during your trip...the sights, sounds, smells, a worthy tableau...and also your impressions and thoughts as you traveled. It came alive for me, and your thoughts I suspect would have echoed my own had I been there, the import of it all... Happy Belated, I wish you a good trip home.
